How to Prepare Chemicals Solutions In Feed Mill Quality control Lab

Different types of chemical solutions have to be prepared for testing various chemicals in the quality control laboratory of the feed mill. Today in the article, we will learn – how to prepare these necessary solutions? So let’s get started-

  • Preparation of 40% Sodium Hydroxide solution: Mix 40 g of Sodium Hydroxide well in 1 liter of Distilled Water to make 40% Sodium Hydroxide solution.
  • Preparation of 0.1 N sodium hydroxide solution: Mix 1 g of sodium hydroxide well in 1 liter of distilled water to make 0.1 N sodium hydroxide solution.
  • Preparation of 0.1 N hydrochloric acid solution: Mix 0.3 N 36% hydrochloric acid solution well in 1 liter distilled water to make 0.1 N hydrochloric acid solution. And take out the standard value of the prepared solution.
  • Hydrochloric acid solution: 1: 1 (to be prepared by adding 100 ml of hydrochloric acid to 100 ml of distilled water).
  • Sulfuric acid solution: 1: 4 (to be prepared by adding 25 ml of sulfuric acid to 100 ml of distilled water).
  • Boric acid solution: Add 40 g of boric acid in 1 liter of distilled water and mix well. Once the boric acid is mixed, add 10 ml 0.1% Methyl Red solution and 6 ml 0.1% Bromo Crystal Green solution and mix well to make a solution.
  • Ammonia solution: 1: 1 (to be prepared by adding 100 ml of ammonia to 100 ml of distilled water)
  • Ammonium oxalate solution: 4% (to be prepared by adding 4 g of ammonia oxalate in 100 ml of distilled water)
  • Potassium permanganate solution: 0.1 Normal (Prepare a solution by adding 3.3 g of potassium permanganate in 1000 ml of distilled water.
  • Methyl Orange Solution: 0.1% (0.1% Methyl Orange Solution should be prepared by adding 0.1 g Methyl Orange with 100 ml Ethanol)
  • Methyl Red Solution: 0.1% (0.1% Methyl Red Solution should be prepared by adding 0.1 g Methyl Red with 100 ml Ethanol)
  • Bromo Cresol Green Solution: 0.1% (0.1% Bromo Crystal Green Solution should be prepared by adding 0.1 g Bromo Cresol Green with 100 ml ethanol)
  •  Preparation of 1.25% sulfuric acid solution: Mix 1.8 ml sulfuric acid well in 1 liter of distilled water to make 1.25% sulfuric acid solution.
  • 1.25% Sodium Hydroxide Preparation: 1.25% sodium hydroxide solution should be prepared by mixing 12.5 g of sodium hydroxide well in 1 liter of distilled water.
  • 10% ammonium molybdate solution: Mix 100 g of ammonium molybdate well in 1 liter of distilled water.
  • Nitric acid solution: 1: 1 (100 ml of distilled water should be prepared by adding 100 ml of nitric acid.
  • Phenolphthalein solution 0.1% (should be prepared by adding 0.1 ml of phenolphthalein in 100 ml distilled water or 90 ml ethanol.)
  • 5% Trichloro-Acetic Acid Solution: 100 ml distil should be prepared by adding 5 g of trichloro-acetic acid.
  • Di-potassium phosphate solution: 0.1 M (Prepare by adding 4.3542 g of di-potassium phosphate in 250 ml distilled water.)
  • Potassium Phosphate Solution: 0.1 M (Prepare by adding 3.4032 g of potassium phosphate in 250 ml distilled water.)
